Recovery

I took you outside
On a rainy day
To dance in Heaven's
Sadness.

To allow the Sky's
Healing tears
To wash over us
And help us feel again.

And even though
You could not yet stand,
I spun you around
And danced for the both of us.

How wonderful it was
To see you smile again.
Even in this place of sickness and pain,
Of recovery.

This place with two faces,
Two sides.
For you must first become ill
Before you can get better.

I can only wonder if
We will ever be the same as we were.
If you will ever really forgive me.
If I will ever really forgive myself.

Only time will tell, I suppose,
But I know we can make it through this
If we stick together.

We will not lose what we had
If we continue to try.

We have to keep trying.

Recovering love. A kind of love that has been hurt and needs time and work to return to what it was before. I can only hope that it is not already too late. Forgiving isn't an easy thing to do.

This is beautiful and so very inspirational, I'd be honored if you would allow us to
display this piece in the "Recovery and Encouragement" section of our gallery at
#TouchedWithFire. It would mean a lot, and I think would be very helpful to our
members who are struggling with any kind of recovery process.
