False

Your smile is false.
I can see right through it,
Like polished glass in the sun.
No shadow is cast.

Your touch is imaginary.
It passes through me,
Like the fluffiest of clouds.
No warmth remains.

Your scent is fake.
I can smell its artificiality.
Like a cheap perfume,
It sets my nostrils aflame.
Yet when you say
Those few words...
I believe them.

What is reality then?
How far beneath the surface
Have we buried truth?
Buried ourselves?

How foolish we are.
In times long past,
Humans made the world.
We colored the sky blue
And painted the clouds white.
We made the world.
But now the world makes us.

We're packaged tightly
And shipped off for processing.
We're put on the shelves
And haggled over,
By those willing to buy our lives.
We play their games
Until we are able
To become shoppers ourselves.
An endless economic cycle.

What ever are we to do?
Need anything be done?
We seem to be happy all the same.
If we are satisfied with falsality,
Why search for reality?
Time will pass just the same.

Smiles. To smile. He's smiling, she's smiling. It's smiling. But what are they really feeling on the inside? What are they really saying?

I wrote this while thinking about all of the times when smiles didn't mean anything. When they were as fleeting as a cloud and as transparent as polished glass.

I Love it!
it's when people think you're too stupid too realize what they're really doing ... everything's false today in politics, for example and every day when you walk on the streets with millions of other people you see them talking through their cell-phones with sunglasses and cigaretts in their mouths =) stupid but that's how it is nowadays... I think ...

Very good.

It reminds me of the everyday routine people get trapped in, trying to impress everyone and lie through everything just to make themselves look better or like everyone else, or to maintain the same routine that holds them, whether or not they like it.

To ask the question "Does that camera take good pictures" is like asking "does that guitar play good songs?"

I agree. No one really cares about anything anymore. They just smile and nod their heads.

Yes. I've done that myself more than a few times. People have gotten too used to lying to impress others or seem normal. People would be much happier if they would just stop thinking so much about how others see them and start thinking more about how they see themselves.
